Paint protection film is the most effective way to keep factory paint factory-fresh. We install STEK DYNOshield, an elastomeric urethane film that absorbs the energy of stones, sand and road salt before any of it reaches your clear coat.
New Jersey roads are hard on paint. Winter brings brine trucks and rock salt, spring brings pothole repair gravel, and the Parkway and Route 22 throw debris at highway speed all year. Film takes that hit so your paint does not.

NJ salts heavily from November through March. Brine sits in seams and eats at bare paint. Sealed under film, it rinses off.
Acidic bug residue and sticky sap etch clear coat within days in summer heat. On film they sit on the surface and wipe away.
Years of sun dull and chalk a finish, especially reds and dark blues. Film carries UV inhibitors that slow it down.

Avoid end-of-lease chip and scratch charges. The film comes off before you hand the keys back.
Splitters, rocker panels and rear quarters sit low and take the most abuse. Those are exactly the panels film protects best.

Two warranties, not one. STEK covers the film for 10 years against cracking and yellowing. We cover our own installation for 2 years against lifting and peeling. Both are registered to your VIN, so the coverage follows the car rather than a receipt in a drawer.
Skip pressure washing the edges and stay out of automatic washes while the adhesive finishes setting. A little edge haze is normal and clears on its own.
Hand wash with a pH neutral shampoo and a clean microfiber mitt. Two buckets, top down, rinse often.
Fine after the first week. Avoid brush and cloth tunnels, which drag grit across the film and undo the point of it.
Use a film-safe quick detailer. Bug remover should be rinsed off promptly rather than left to dwell on an edge.
Rinse the underside and lower panels after salted roads. Salt does not hurt the film, but it collects in seams and edges.
A ceramic coating over the film keeps it slick, easier to wash, and adds gloss on top of the protection.

On a properly plotted install, no. DYNOshield is optically clear and edges are wrapped or tucked where the panel allows. Up close in direct light you may find an edge if you go looking for it.
It can, but the chips stay visible underneath and get sealed in. We would rather correct or touch in first. We will tell you honestly what is worth doing at the walkthrough.
The top layer is elastomeric. When a light scratch breaks the surface, heat from the sun or warm water lets it re-flow back to level. Deep gouges that go through the film do not heal.

Self-healing paint protection film technology describes an ability for clear bra's topcoat layer to mend itself when washing marks, swirl marks or other light scratches are introduced into the surface of the film.
When the film is scratched, the surface shows visible damage to the film. However, once heat is applied (by the sun or heat gun), the underlying layers "rearrange" themselves on a particle-level in order to dissipate the scratch.This dissipation creates the illusion that the scratches are healing themselves right before your eyes.This process doesn't affect the integrity of the film and the same area can be scratched many times before the scratches become permanent. Unless you're purposefully scuffing the same area over and over again, the likelihood of scratches remaining permanent is very low.
